The Panzer V (Panther) is a medium tank.
Historical Significance Edit
The Panzer V (Panther) was a German designed medium tank based on Russian made T-34 series, however it received less success than its Russian parent. Adopting a similar sloped armour chassis the Panzer V (Panther) was capable of saving weight while retaining strong protection against most conventional AT weaponry such as: AP Shells, HE Shells, APCR Shells, etc. HEAT ammunition from Shells or even rockets could somewhat negate the effect of the slope under certain angles.
The Wehrmacht created many variations however on average the Panzer V (Panther) was perhaps only marginally better than the T-34s or not at all, at a higher cost than the T-34.
